Greetings on our site through LinkedIn!
Our Website Expands Presence on LinkedIn
In a strategic shift, our website is now publishing posts on LinkedIn, the professional networking platform. This move aims to reach users where they are and cater to the unique features of the platform.
The LinkedIn company page, easily accessible by searching for "our website" or clicking on [www.linkedin.com/company/pfbits/], welcomes reactions, follows, and engagement. Users can also subscribe to the page from the app.
The content on the LinkedIn channel will differ from that on other social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Mastodon, and Telegram. This discrepancy arises due to LinkedIn’s distinct audience, content algorithm, and platform purpose.
LinkedIn’s algorithm prioritizes content optimized for professional value and reader benefits. It favours posts that emphasize outcomes and how the content helps readers professionally. This means content on LinkedIn is often more formal, educational, or business-focused to match user expectations.
Audience expectations and consumption patterns also differ on LinkedIn. Users are looking for business insights, career development, industry news, and networking content, while Facebook and Instagram users expect more personal, lifestyle, or entertainment-focused material.
Additionally, LinkedIn does not support the same range of content formats and styles as platforms like Instagram or Twitter. For instance, video content on LinkedIn often needs a professional tone, while Instagram encourages visual storytelling and more informal posts.
Different algorithms and feed mechanisms influence what content surfaces and how it performs on each platform. LinkedIn uses a professional-centric feed algorithm prioritizing thoughtful, relevant posts. Other platforms prioritize engagement signals like likes, shares, or trending topics more heavily.
It's important to note that all current social media channels will remain in place. The "mother ship", the website, will continue to be without annoying "paywalls".
Adjustments to LinkedIn content may be made in the near future, and a solution has been found for publishing new posts on "X" (formerly Twitter). However, users should be aware that contact information or event dates mentioned in the post may no longer be current.
The technical foundations for the LinkedIn presence were recently established, and clicking the LinkedIn company page link on a smartphone directs users to the LinkedIn app.
