Grandmother Triumphs in Startup World Cup Greece Finals 2025, Advances to Grand Finale Event
In a significant milestone for the Greek startup ecosystem, Grandmama, a homegrown company, has emerged victorious at the Startup World Cup Greece Finals 2025. The event, held at SuiHub in Athens, was a reflection of Greece's growing ambition and ability to compete internationally.
The Startup World Cup Greece Finals 2025 was part of a global series organised by Pegasus Tech Ventures. Eleven startups from various sectors such as AI, biotech, energy, mobility, Web3, and maritime technology participated in the Greek finals. Among the finalists were PaperLab.ai, Kelpiebloom, AlongRoute, Laddroller, Bitloops, HugeOne.io, Optimems Smart Energy Solutions, MyStudentFlat, Dikaio.ai, and Innate Repair.
Grandmama, founded by Vicky Klimi, impressed the jury, which included Myrto Papathanou (Metavallon VC), Nik Antoniou (Apeiron VC), Andreas Klapsis (Startup Greece), and Volodymyr Zhukov (Network VC). Nik Antoniou, Partner at Apeiron VC, noted that it was a tough call to choose among so many strong startup projects.
The Startup World Cup Greece Finals 2025 awarded two prizes: the top honor to Grandmama and an Audience Favorite Award to Laddroller. Grandmama received a €5,000 prize in media services for the Audience Favorite Award, sponsored by Panis Media.
The win is a significant step towards global recognition for Grandmama, with the company set to represent Greece at the Grand Finale in San Francisco on October 17, 2025. The Grand Finale offers a $1 million investment prize, making it an exciting prospect for Grandmama.
Dmitry Dosov, General Partner at Aivitam Ventures and Ambassador of Startup World Cup for Cyprus and Greece, stated that this year's finals were a step forward for the local ecosystem. The event was powered by Aivitam Ventures and Panis Media, and supported by Areti Charidemou, Startup Greece, and SuiHub.
As Grandmama prepares to represent Greece on the global stage, the eyes of the startup world will be on this promising company. With the Grand Finale just around the corner, the anticipation is palpable, and Greece is eager to see what the future holds for Grandmama.
