Globally recognized website announces 54 lawyers as partners for 2022

Global law firm X has announced the promotion of 54 lawyers to partner and director positions, effective January 1, 2022, in various locations worldwide. The promotions cover 11 practice areas, with the majority being in litigation and disputes, corporate, M&A and securities, banking and finance, and information governance, privacy and cybersecurity.

In Hamburg, Veit Sahlfeld was promoted in the banking and finance practice area. Meanwhile, in Munich/London, Annabelle Wheeler received a promotion in the litigation and disputes practice area. Anna Rudawski was promoted in the information governance, privacy and cybersecurity practice area in New York, United States. Alberta Yan and Jared Kaplan were both promoted in the corporate, M&A and securities practice area in New York, while Eric Green was promoted in the intellectual property practice area in Austin, United States.

Helen Fairhead was promoted in the antitrust and competition practice area in London, United Kingdom. Rachel Chan was promoted in the corporate, M&A and securities practice area in Hong Kong. Rebecca Abou-Chedid was promoted in the projects practice area in Washington, D.C., United States.

In Canada, a group of lawyers were promoted across various practice areas, including Robin Acworth, Veronique Barry, Scott Boucher, Brian Chau, Matthew Choi, Jenna Anne de Jong, Russell Dufault, Alison FitzGerald, Caroline Jodoin, Jonathan Lafrance, Brigitte LeBlanc-Lapointe, Jennifer McPherson, Brian Milne, Fahad Siddiqui, Joshua Sprague, Nikita Stepin, Tim Stewart.

The promotions in South Africa are titled as director instead of partner. Paul Cartwright was promoted in the litigation and disputes practice area in Johannesburg, while Laura Kiwelu was promoted in the projects practice area in London.

Gerry Pecht, Global Chief Executive of the law firm, congratulated the promoted lawyers for their industry knowledge, business acumen, and innovative solutions. Notable promotions include Claudia Posluschny in the employment and labor practice area in Munich, and Marianne McMahon as general counsel in London.

Twenty-three of the promoted lawyers are women, accounting for 43 percent of the total. Other notable promotions include Nathan Baum in the litigation and disputes practice area in Dallas, United States, Fiona Henderson in the banking and finance practice area in New York, Matthew Buckle in the litigation and disputes practice area in London, Victoria Corder in the litigation and disputes practice area in New York, Kate Green and Harriet Oldmeadow in the litigation and disputes practice area in Sydney, Australia, Nicolas Sirtoli in the corporate, M&A and securities practice area in London, Darren Smith in the intellectual property practice area in Houston, Daniel Ng in the litigation and disputes practice area in Hong Kong, Dimitri Millas in the banking and finance practice area in Houston, Louisa Roe in the real estate practice area in London, Denton Nichols in the litigation and disputes practice area in Houston, Rafe Schaefer in the litigation and disputes practice area in Houston, Nick Sinclair in the banking and finance practice area in Perth, Australia, James Lockwood in the litigation and disputes practice area in London, and Rebecca Winthrop in the bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency practice area in Los Angeles.

Veit Sahlfeld, promoted in the banking and finance practice area, will now handle financial matters at X's Hamburg office. In contrast, Annabelle Wheeler, who received a promotion in the litigation and disputes practice area, will apply her business expertise to legal disputes in Munich and London.
