Gender Diversity in Promotions
Twenty-three of the 54 promoted lawyers are women, representing 43% of the total. This is a positive step towards increasing gender diversity at senior levels in law firms, which remains a challenge. Firms are actively working on gender strategies to boost senior-level gender equity by 2025, including setting targets and promoting men’s involvement in gender equity conversations.
Industry-wide calls for greater transparency and transformative change to improve diversity, including LGBTQ+ inclusion, gender diversity, and broader equity initiatives, are increasing. These aim to dismantle persistent barriers to partnership and leadership roles, and international Women’s Day 2025 themes and law-firm initiatives emphasize accelerating action to achieve gender equality in the legal profession, including career advancement at the partner level, through committees and firm-wide programs focused on supporting women lawyers and leaders.
