Global powerhouse inherits fresh identity post ASM Global acquisition, officially named Legends Global.
Legends Global, a leading provider of sports venues, events, and brand services, has undergone a significant transformation following its 2024 acquisition of ASM Global. The company, valued at $1.35 billion in a 2021 deal with investment firm Sixth Street, now manages a network of over 450 venues worldwide.
The acquisition, which reportedly cost more than $2.3 billion, saw ASM Global, the world's largest venue management company at the time, with over 300 global venues, join forces with Legends. This merger has resulted in a formidable force in the industry, offering services from early-stage feasibility studies through to event booking roles and food/beverage management.
In the newly constituted leadership team, Dan Levy has been named CEO of the combined venture, Legends Global. Brett Parker has joined the company and will serve as president and CFO. Doug Thornton will serve as president of North American venues, Tom Funk as president of hospitality, Mike Ondrejko as president of sales, and Chris Hibbs as president of partnerships.
The research arm of the company, CSL, will be led by Ben Wrigley as its president. Meanwhile, former ASM Global president of Europe, Chris Bray, will lead Legends Global's work on Europe. Harvey Lister is the chairman and CEO of APAC and MENA in Legends Global.
Legends Global has also agreed to pay $1.5 million in penalties tied to a separate case involving Tim Leiweke, the co-founder and CEO of Oak View Group. Additionally, the company paid a $3.5 million civil penalty as part of a settlement following Department of Justice accusations that it conducted 'illegal premerger coordination' before receiving governmental approval on the deal.
Notably, Legends Global is currently working with MLB's Athletics and the NFL's Buffalo Bills on their new stadium projects. The company has also been involved in various high-profile events such as the Ryder Cup and the LA28 Olympics. Former ASM Global president of Europe, Chris Bray, will lead Legends Global's work on Europe.
Chad Estis has been appointed as executive vice president and chief revenue officer in Legends Global. With this new leadership and expanded capabilities, Legends Global is poised to make a significant impact in the sports and entertainment industry.
