Gallagher Bassett Collaborates with Treeapp for Anti-Fraud Operations
Gallagher Bassett UK's Innovative Fraud Prevention Initiative Yields Environmental Benefits
Gallagher Bassett (GB) UK has partnered with Treeapp to deliver on its 'Net Zero Tolerance to Fraud' initiative, an ambitious program that links fraud detection outcomes with environmental sustainability goals. The collaboration, which includes longstanding client DHL Supply Chain and supplier partner DWF, has made significant progress in its first year.
Launched in July 2024, the initiative aimed to plant 500 trees in the UK through Treeapp's reforestation projects as a direct result of fraud prevention savings. In its first year, the initiative delivered above the initial target, surpassing 500 trees planted. This achievement underscores GB's commitment to sustainability and emerging risk sectors.
To enhance fraud management, GB has been applying artificial intelligence to detect irregularities early in the claims process. This approach addresses the broader challenge of insurance fraud, which affects an estimated 2% to 10% of claims. The initiative not only improves claims processing efficiency but also ties these improvements to measurable environmental impact, tracked digitally via Treeapp's platform.
Treeapp's projects in the UK restore biodiversity, create local jobs, reduce pollution, and support community development. The partnership with GB supports these efforts, helping to plant trees in the UK as a result of fraud prevention outcomes.
The initiative reflects GB and DHL Supply Chain's shared commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. John Fearn, Chief Operating Officer of GB, expressed satisfaction with the initiative's results and its environmental impact, stating, "We are proud to be making a positive impact on the environment while improving our fraud prevention capabilities."
In addition to this initiative, GB has also acquired Caytons Law LLP (Caytons), expanding its litigation offering. Manan Sagar, CEO of Gallagher Bassett (GB) Europe, Middle East, and Asia, looks forward to growth opportunities in 2025 and beyond. Sagar, an industry leader with over 60 years of business experience, was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of GB UK's operations.
With these developments, Gallagher Bassett continues to strengthen its position as a leading global provider of risk and claims management services. The 'Net Zero Tolerance to Fraud' initiative represents a scalable and innovative model blending anti-fraud efforts with environmental responsibility, setting a precedent for future collaborations in the industry. The initiative runs through 2029, providing ample opportunity for continued growth and impact.
The collaboration between Gallagher Bassett UK, DHL Supply Chain, and DWF in the 'Net Zero Tolerance to Fraud' initiative reveals a forward-thinking approach to fraud prevention, linking its success with environmental benefits, a perspective that could potentially reshape the wider finance and business industry. The achievement of planting more than 500 trees in the UK's reforestation projects through this initiative demonstrates the potential financial industry's role in promoting sustainable events and fostering environmental benefits.
