New Appointment at BGV Insurance: Matthias Kreibich Joins Management Boards

Matthias Kreibich, a seasoned insurance professional with over 17 years of experience, has been appointed as a new member of the management boards for both the Baden Municipal Insurance Association (BGV) and BGV Insurance.

Kreibich's extensive career in the insurance sector began at Mannheimer Asset Management, where he held various positions, eventually becoming a department head and later a managing director. He then moved on to work for Munich Re, Athene Life Insurance, and SV Sparkassenversicherung, where he headed the group-wide capital investment management.

Prior to joining BGV Insurance, Kreibich spent 17 years at the Inter Insurance Group in Mannheim, including a stint as the group's spokesperson and, later, the head of the capital investment department. His departure from Inter Insurance Group was followed by Michael Solf taking over the spokesperson position in June 2019.

BGV Insurance, headquartered in Karlsruhe, is a specialist insurer for municipalities in Baden and offers various insurance policies for private and corporate customers across Germany. With over 770 employees, the company manages around 1.8 million contracts with a premium volume of over €391 million.

Kreibich's appointment is subject to approval from relevant supervisory authorities and he is expected to start work at the beginning of next year, taking over the business area previously held by Raimund Herrmann. Herrmann, who is currently the deputy chairman of both management bodies, is responsible for the corporate areas of accounting, risk management, and capital investment of the entire insurance group. Herrmann will retire from his position in April.

It is worth noting that Kreibich has been a member of the supervisory boards of various Polish subsidiaries of the Inter Group and BKM Bausparkasse Mainz since 2010. He also served as a member of the board of the Free Doctor and Medical Insurance Fund for the members of the fire brigade and police from October 2010 to June 2019.

At the time of writing, no new information about Kreibich's expected start date or the business area he will take over has been provided. Similarly, no new information about the approval process for his appointment or his current positions outside of BGV Insurance has been disclosed.

For those seeking precise information about Kreibich's prior positions or companies he worked for, it is recommended to check professional networking profiles or official company biographies, as these sources often provide verified and detailed career histories.

The finance area at BGV Insurance is set to see a change with Matthias Kreibich's arrival, as he takes over the business area previously held by Raimund Herrmann. Kreibich's extensive experience in the capital investment management across various insurance companies, such as Mannheimer Asset Management and Munich Re, will contribute to the finance business within BGV Insurance.
