Expanded Equity Initiative
The Meyer's Hof project, a flagship initiative aimed at providing independent, affordable, and city-centre living for residents, has been in the works since 2015. Originating during the city marketing process, this senior living project has been a long-standing ambition for the local community.
In 2019, the cooperative "Meyer's Hof" was established to spearhead the project. A new design for the project was created in 2021, following a change of architects, with a focus on sustainable construction. This eco-friendly approach aligns with the project's mission to create a living space that is not only affordable but also environmentally conscious.
The project group has high hopes for securing suitable funding. They are looking towards various federal government initiatives, such as the EH55 or KfW-55 subsidies, and the special investment fund established by the German federal government for infrastructure and climate neutrality investments. However, monthly changes in funding regulations have made the project more challenging.
Unfortunately, the repayment subsidy has been cut from the project, adding to the difficulties. Despite these setbacks, the district has been processing the documents for the building permit since October 2022. The building permit for the project is still pending, but progress is being made.
The next significant step for the project will be decided at the general assembly on June 27. The community is eager to learn more about the project's future and how they can continue to support this important initiative.
As the project moves forward, the team remains dedicated to delivering a sustainable, affordable, and city-centre living solution for the residents of our city. Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses.
