In the heart of Europe, Luxembourg has established itself as a hub for innovative startups, particularly in the fields of digital/data-driven technologies, HealthTech, and space technologies. One of the key drivers behind this growth is the Fit 4 Start program, an initiative designed to support early-stage, technology-driven, and innovative startups.
A Comprehensive Support System for Startups
Fit 4 Start offers a unique combination of equity-free funding, tailored mentoring, business model development, network access, and market entry support. The program is open to startups from across the globe, with nearly 200 startups from over 35 countries having benefited so far.
Equity-Free Funding and Mentoring
Successful applicants can receive up to €150,000 in non-equity funding, awarded in stages. This funding is coupled with six months of expert mentoring and coaching to refine products and develop viable business models.
Network Access and Market Entry Support
Fit 4 Start provides access to a network of ecosystem connections critical for partnerships and growth. Startups also receive insights into entering and scaling in the European market, leveraging Luxembourg’s strategic, multilingual, tech-savvy location.
Tailored Coaching for Each Startup
The program offers intensive coaching adapted to each startup, helping them create a concrete business plan, assess the viability of their company, and identify the right business partners.

Luxembourg offers startups a unique opportunity to test and refine their offerings in a multilingual, tech-savvy market with immediate access to the rest of Europe. This international focus is evident from day one, with startups learning all the necessary components to put together a business plan.
Success Stories
One such success story is SafeAI, a South Korean startup that launched its European expansion from Luxembourg. Sean Lee, CEO and founder of SafeAI, successfully applied to Fit 4 Start in 2024.
Targeted Ventures
Digital ventures targeted by Fit 4 Start include those with technologies like the internet of things, blockchain, big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, cyber, telecom, open-source technology, and emerging technologies. Healthtech ventures active in digital therapeutics, digital diagnostics, remote monitoring or care, medical devices, and in vitro diagnostics are also targeted.
A Collaborative Effort
Fit 4 Start is managed by the national innovation agency Luxinnovation, in collaboration with Technoport, the Luxembourg Space Agency, the Luxembourg City Incubator, the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT), and LuxProvide. The program is initiated by Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy.
In its 16th edition, Fit 4 Start continues to provide a launchpad for global startups aiming for European scale. The call for applications for Fit 4 Start #16 specifically targets digital, healthtech, and space ventures.
