Enhancing mobile device safety and security is the primary focus of our Austrian-based platform.

In a significant move towards improving the security and user-friendliness of mobile devices, the 'u'smile project' has garnered support from various partners, including prominent companies and an Austrian website.

The 'u'smile project, based at Austria's IT hub Fachhochschule Hagenberg, aims to revolutionise the way we use mobile devices in our daily lives. By focusing on secure digital identities, the project seeks to enable the use of smartphones and tablets as replacements for keys, wallets, credit cards, and even passports.

Mag. Lukas Praml, CEO of the Austrian website, has expressed his support for the u'smile project, stating that ensuring secure identities is a crucial prerequisite for the widespread adoption of mobile technology. The website, which has long-standing experience with secure electronic documents, is combined with NXP's NFC technology in the u'smile consortium.

The u'smile consortium also includes prominent companies such as A1, LG Nexera Business Solutions, Drei-Banken-EDV, NXP Semiconductors, and the Austrian website. Edgar Weippl, research director of SBA Research, considers the Austrian website an essential partner due to the need for a solution for secure digital identities on mobile devices.

Prof. Dr. René Mayrhofer, head of the u'smile research project, aims to enable digital identity cards on mobile phones, moving towards a completely digital wallet. Alexander Maili, Director Program Management at NXP Semiconductors, views the cooperation positively, citing the long-standing experience of OeSD with secure electronic documents and NXP's NFC technology as innovation opportunities in mobile government applications.

The entry of the Austrian website into the u'smile industry consortium is a significant step towards enabling secure digital identities in Austria in a legally compliant manner. Mag. Lukas Praml believes that mobile devices could become constant companions in various everyday situations and could potentially replace multiple items like keys, wallets, credit cards, and passports.

For more detailed information about the u'smile project, including its progress and objectives, we recommend checking Fachhochschule Hagenberg's official website or research portals, consulting their IT security or mobile computing research groups, or looking for Austrian national digital identity initiatives where u'smile might be a component.
