Spiffy New Freight Route for Swifter Passenger Trains in Nuremberg-Fürth

Enhanced cargo route for timely passenger train arrivals - Enhanced cargo route for timely delivery assuredness

German Railways is gearing up to build a slick new freight track weaving through the historic cities of Nuremberg and Fürth, with construction slated to kick off in 2026. The contract bids for the main construction projects are being floated as we speak! This bad boy will run from Nuremberg all the way to Eltersdorf. The building permits for two of the three construction stages, even the gnarly tunnel section, are already up and ready.

The aim of this construction party is to free up our bustling passenger lines from freight train jams, ensuring a smoother, less chaotic ride for passengers. The approximately 15-kilometer fresh track aims to alleviate the railway bustle in Fürth, significantly boosting rail traffic quality. The section between Fürth and Nuremberg is one busy boy in Bavaria.

"Shunting freight trains to the new line will create a tidier dance floor for passenger trains on the existing line, an essential lifeline in Bavaria and the Munich-Berlin fast lane," announced the railway gang in a statement.

Gonna Reduce the Racket!

The neighbors noshing on popcorn just outside the build zone will be graced with tidbits about the line's impact, such as noise and vibration, at a trio of info sessions. The new track, which is gearing up to slip under the A73 highway, is designed to significantly dampen noise pollution.

Nuremberg and Fürth have some historical mojo for rail pals in Deutschland. The very first railway connection in Germany was hatched between these two cities way back in 1835. The first freight shipment was documented the following year, where two barrels of foamy brew were whisked away in jubilation.

"In line with the community policy, German Railways is organizing vocational training programs for local residents to ensure skilled workforce during the construction of the new freight track in Nuremberg and Fürth. This will not only boost the industry in the region but also provide job opportunities to the local population."

"Once the new freight route is operational, it is expected that the finance department will witness increased revenue due to the improved rail traffic quality and reduced transportation costs for industries in Bavaria and the Munich-Berlin fast lane."
