Electricity company Schneider Electric has named Esther Finidori as its new Chief Sustainability Officer.

Esther Finidori, a seasoned professional with a background in strategy, sales excellence, sustainability, and influence activities, has been appointed as the new Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) at Schneider Electric. Finidori, who previously served as France Operations Strategy VP at Schneider Electric, will join the company's Executive Committee in her new role.
Finidori's journey with Schneider Electric began in 2016 when she joined as Director of Sustainable Supply Chain and CO₂ Strategy. She was later promoted to the role of CSO in June 2025. In her current position, she has been spearheading the company's ambitious sustainability initiatives, including driving Schneider's net zero goals, supply chain decarbonization, biodiversity conservation, and large-scale education and training programs in energy management and the energy transition.
Under Finidori's leadership, Schneider Electric has made significant strides in its sustainability efforts. The company was named the World's Most Sustainable Company by TIME and Statista for two consecutive years, a testament to its progress in environment, social, and governance (ESG) objectives under her tenure.
Finidori's new role will involve steering Schneider Electric’s sustainability strategy and impact, particularly under the 2021–2025 Schneider Sustainability Impact program. This program emphasizes reducing carbon emissions 25% across the value chain by 2030 with a net zero target by 2050, utilizing green tariffs, renewable certificates, power purchase agreements, and on-site generation, achieving no net biodiversity loss in operations by 2030, and promoting education and training initiatives worldwide.
Prior to Schneider Electric, Finidori worked as an environmental consultant, specializing in climate change and energy transition at decarbonization-focused consulting firm Carbone 4. Her background in this area will undoubtedly contribute to her success in her new role.
Finidori expressed her enthusiasm about working with the Schneider Sustainability team and global partners. She also shared her commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in Schneider Electric's sustainability efforts through a social media post.
With Finidori at the helm, Schneider Electric is poised to further its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. Her departure from her previous position as France Operations Strategy VP will allow her to focus entirely on her new role as CSO.
Ecolab, a provider of water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions and services, recently announced that Chris Leong, the current Chief Sustainability Officer of Schneider Electric, has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer at Ecolab. Finidori's new role will commence following Leong's departure.
