The 2025 editions of ICE and iGB Affiliate, two major events in the global gaming industry, have left a significant impact on the Barcelona-Catalonia economy. According to an analysis, the events generated an economic impact of €191 million.

Direct impacts, consisting of expenditures associated with organizing, exhibiting, and attending, were a key contributor to this figure. The exceptional exhibitor engagement, combined with the large international business audience, played a significant role in this. The average daily spend of non-local attendees was calculated at €449.

Indirect or secondary impacts, also known as the knock-on effect of the event on the Barcelona-Catalonia economy, were also substantial. The events benefitted a wide range of local businesses including hotels, restaurants, transport services, venues, and event production. They attracted attendees from 186 countries, generating 121,000 overnight stays.

The organization of ICE and iGB Affiliate 2025 in Barcelona involved ICE, the global gaming industry event organizer, managing ICE as a major trade fair for the iGaming sector. The Clarion Gaming team, in collaboration with Fira GranVia, demonstrated why they are regarded as the best in the business.

The events had a record attendance, with world-class exhibitors showcasing a cross-section of global gaming innovation. The stated ambition for the relocation was to evolve, grow, and offer a greater platform for connection and innovation. Clarion Gaming Managing Director Stuart Hunter made a statement about the relocation, expressing their commitment to this goal.

The events supported an estimated 3,100 part-time jobs, further boosting the local economy. An input-output model was employed to estimate the total direct, indirect, and induced economic impacts. The analysis evaluated the employment effects, capturing the jobs created and supported as a result of hosting the exhibitions.

The success of ICE and iGB Affiliate 2025 in Barcelona has set the stage for their return in January 2026. The events are scheduled to take place again, promising another opportunity for the global gaming industry to connect, innovate, and contribute to the Barcelona-Catalonia economy.
