Construction Work Disrupts S-Bahn and Regional Traffic in Munich
In August 2022, commuters in Munich and surrounding areas should be aware of scheduled construction works that will affect the S-Bahn Line S4 and regional trains between Munich and Geltendorf.
Disruptions
From August 1 to August 28, 2022, there will be partial or complete suspensions of train services in the affected sections, primarily around Eichenau station. The exact dates within August may vary depending on specific work phases.
Alternatives for Commuters
During this time, commuters can make use of the following alternatives:
- Replacement Bus Services: Shuttle buses will run parallel to the route between affected stations, covering stops like Eichenau and other intermediate points.
- Adjusted Timetables: Some trains might run on modified schedules, and passengers are advised to check updated timetables.
- Alternative Train Connections: Passengers may be advised to take other S-Bahn or regional train lines with connections to bypass the disrupted segment.
- Information Points: Additional information will be available at stations and online via the MVV (Munich Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund) and DB (German Rail) websites and apps.
Commuters should plan extra travel time and consult the official MVV and Deutsche Bahn sources before traveling for the latest updates on service changes.
