Department of Public Works and Highways initiates construction of fresh PIA Region 3 headquarters

A brand-spanking new home for the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) is officially in the works! The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced recently that the construction of PIA's Regional Office III building has kicked off.

The groundbreaking ceremony went down at the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center (DMGC) in Barangay Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, on June 18, 2025, amidst a flurry of government officials.

DPWH Assistant Regional Director Melquiades Sto. Domingo shares that the state-of-the-art facility will bolster PIA's ability to deliver precise and prompt information, particularly on government programs and services. This project, funded by the national government, will set up shop within the DMGC compound, with an estimated completion date of January 2026.

Upon completion, this bad boy will serve as a central haven for government communication, media coordination, and information dissemination in Central Luzon, according to Sto. Domingo.

Several national government agencies - including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Commission on Audit (COA), Bureau of the Treasury (BTr), and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) - were present at the event.

This modern information hub is slated to be the 53rd agency office within the DMGC, reinforcing the government center’s mission to offer a one-stop shop for diverse government services across Central Luzon. The construction of the facility supports efforts to strengthen communication infrastructure and fosters growth, development, and inclusive participation in the region.
