Danish State Secures Copenhagen Airports, Boosting Global Connectivity
The Danish State has completed its acquisition of Copenhagen Airports A/S, securing a strong international news hub for Denmark's global connectivity. The European Commission approved the acquisition on 16 July 2025, and the transaction was finalised on 30 September 2025.
Following the acquisition, the Danish State now holds about 98.6 percent of the company's shares, with the remainder largely owned by private minority shareholders. To formalise this change, Copenhagen Airports A/S will convene an extraordinary general meeting to elect new board members, including the chairman, whose name and position are yet to be announced.
The acquisition ensures Denmark maintains a robust international news hub, enhancing its global connectivity. The upcoming general meeting will solidify this change, with new board members, led by the yet-to-be-named chairman, set to guide Copenhagen Airports A/S into this new era.
