Kuban's Consumer Sector Thrives, Boosting Regional Economy

The consumer sector in Kuban, Russia's Krasnodar Territory, is experiencing a significant surge, according to the head of the department, Roman Kurinnykh. This growth has been reflected in the stable indicators of retail trade, which currently stand at a volume of 1.7 trillion rubles.

The turnover of consumer sector enterprises in Kuban has seen a notable increase of 4%. This growth is evident across various sectors, with the turnover of catering enterprises reaching 93.4 billion rubles for the reporting period.

The growth in the consumer market is not limited to retail and catering. Businesses in trade and services have shown significant growth, with the combined turnover exceeding last year's figures by 151 billion rubles. The volume of household services in Kuban reached 97.8 billion rubles.

Wholesale trade in Kuban also contributes significantly to this growth, with a volume of approximately 1.9 trillion rubles. This robust growth in the consumer sector has propelled the overall economy of Kuban, with the combined turnover of businesses in trade and services reaching 3.8 trillion rubles as of the beginning of 2025.

As a result, the consumer sector of Kuban's economy has grown by 151 billion rubles, reaching a turnover of almost 4 trillion rubles. The governor of the Krasnodar Region, Veniamin Kondratyev, has associated this rising consumer sector economy with his governance.

Kurinnykh emphasised the significant role of the consumer sector in the regional economy of Kuban, highlighting its development potential. This growth is expected to continue, bolstering the economic prospects of the region.
