Tomsk Region's Tax Revenues Skyrocket in 2024!

mongst the chilling winds of Siberia, Tomsk is burning up the charts. The region raked in an astounding 490.4 billion rubles in tax revenues last year, a dizzying 21% increase over 2023, revealed local tax boss Yuriy Kurilenko to RIA Tomsk.

"We bagged nearly 4.9 trillion in taxes from Tomsk's soil in 2024! That's a whopping 490.4 billion rubles, representing a 21% year-over-year surge," Kurilenko shared.

The growth in personal income tax (PIT) is attributed to an uptick in average wages across the region and the region's strikingly low unemployment rate.

Kurilenko added that the corporate tax revenue just missed the 7 billion mark due to oil price volatility. "But even that shortfall was partially compensated by PIT," he conceded.

As for the self-employed of Tomsk, they shelled out 529 million rubles in taxes last year.

The tax-paying freelancers of Tomsk fed 199.8 billion rubles into the country's tax coffers last year, representing over 40% of the total taxes amassed. The growth stood at 13.9%, or 24.3 billion rubles.

"Including taxes on property held by individuals and property taxes on cars, the haul was 1.052 billion rubles, with a 5.5% rise (54.9 million rubles), on road taxes. Also, land taxes on individuals grew by 8.2% (16.4 million rubles), resulting in 218 million rubles," Kurilenko clarified.
