Freiburg, a picturesque city nestled in the heart of the Black Forest, is currently facing a series of construction sites this summer, causing temporary traffic disruptions for motorists. Here's a rundown of the ongoing projects and the necessary detours:

1. The Garden and Civil Engineering Office is renovating Mooswaldallee and Lembergallee from July 28 to September 5. The road will remain open in both directions, but small-scale detours into cross-streets may be necessary depending on the phase of work.

2. Badenova is renovating a gas line on Habsburgerstraße from June 30 to August 8. During this period, the inbound lane on Habsburgerstraße will be closed, and a detour via Waldkircher Straße and Stefan-Meier-Straße is provided.

3. The State Presidency is renovating the B31 from the "Freiburg-Mitte" exit to Umkirch-Gansacker this summer. The works will take six months, during which the two lanes of the B31 will remain open, with a slight offset at the construction site.

4. The State Presidency is also carrying out renovation works on the B31 this summer, near Ochsenbrücke. Canal renovation works are taking place from July 31 to September 13, with the road narrowed to one lane during this time.

5. The major construction sites in Kappler Straße and Elsaesser Straße continue. The specific impact on traffic is not detailed, but motorists are advised to exercise caution and expect delays.

6. The construction of Breisgauer Straße has been ongoing since June and will continue until September. A short section of Sundgaubridge is narrowed to one lane for development purposes.

7. Badenova Waermeplus is crossing Paduaallee to lay a district heating line from August 4 to September 12. Depending on the phase of work, one or two lanes per direction will remain open.

8. From July 7 to July 13, the on-ramp from Freiburg towards Basel will be closed, with a detour via Umkirch and a U-turn option. From September 7 to September 14, the on-ramp from Umkirch towards Basel will also be closed; a detour via the Freiburg-Mitte exit is recommended.

9. Those coming from the A5 from the north will not be able to exit to Umkirch during July and September; a detour via the Freiburg-Mitte exit instead is necessary. Similarly, those coming from the A5 from the north will also not be able to enter Freiburg during these periods; a detour via the Freiburg-Nord exit onto the Westrandstraße is suggested.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on traffic restrictions, motorists are advised to check official government websites, use traffic apps, consult local news archives, or contact local transportation authorities directly.
