CapitaLand has concluded the CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge 2023, announcing winners and providing substantial funding for their innovations. Meanwhile, BeeX and Refilled, both developers of innovative solutions, have secured significant investment in separate funding rounds.
CapitaLand awarded the top prize, SGD 150,000 (USD 111,000), to each of four winning teams. The company also plans to provide additional funding of up to SGD 1 million (USD 741,000) to support the testing of these innovations at its properties.
Six other teams received SGD 75,000 (USD 55,000) each for their pilot projects. Four teams were recognized with special awards: viAct, Healthway Family of Brands, Ralos Enterprise Corporation, and Magorium. However, the recipient of the 'Innovation for Health, Safety, and Wellness in Buildings' special prize remains unknown.

Similarly, Refilled, a Sydney-based developer of smart drink dispensers, has secured AUD 1.3 million (USD 845,000) in a seed funding round. Weilian Gubao, a Chinese burger and fast food chain, also raised RMB 10 million (USD 1.37 million) in a strategic financing round.
These investments reflect the growing interest in innovative solutions across various sectors. CapitaLand's support for sustainability-focused innovations is expected to drive progress in green technologies, while BeeX and Refilled's funding rounds indicate strong investor confidence in their respective underwater and drink dispenser technologies. Meanwhile, Weilian Gubao's raise signals continued growth in the fast food industry.
