Business transaction: BMS Group Finalizes Purchase in Queensland

In a significant move to strengthen its global presence, BMS Group, a leading insurance brokerage firm, has announced the acquisition of two prominent specialty insurance brokers – Corporate and Commercial Insurance Brokers based in Queensland, Australia, and Eisenar from Spain. The Rasher acquisition, another Spanish broker with Latin American subsidiaries, is also in the pipeline, subject to regulatory approvals.

Jeremy Murfin, the founder and director of Corporate and Commercial Insurance Brokers, is eager to share his extensive business experience with BMS colleagues and the broader client base. Murfin has built an exceptional business over the last two decades, serving clients up and down the east coast of Australia. He will now join the Australian Executive Leadership Team as Client Director for BMS Australia.

Corporate and Commercial Insurance Brokers, founded in 2006, provides risk management advice and insurance broking services to large, privately owned organizations. On the other hand, Eisenar, established in 2001, is headquartered in Seville, Spain, with a second office in an undisclosed location. The terms of both acquisitions have not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, it's important to note that BMW Group's recent M&A activity is focused on automobile dealership investments, not insurance brokers. As of July 2025, there are no publicly disclosed acquisitions by BMW in the insurance brokerage space. However, BMS Group continues to expand its global footprint, following the acquisition of Spanish broker Rasher and its Latin American subsidiaries earlier this year, and the acquisition of UAE broker Berms Brett Masaood (now BMS Masaood) in 2024.

Andrew Godden, CEO of BMS Australia, expressed his delight at Murfin's decision to join forces with BMS. He believes the alignment with the culture, structure, and resources within BMS will enable the continuation and enhancement of client service delivery. Murfin, in turn, anticipates the opportunities that lie ahead to be exciting.

The details of the Rasher acquisition, including the terms, have not been disclosed. BMS Group's latest acquisitions are expected to further bolster its position as a leading global insurance broker, offering comprehensive services to clients worldwide.

  1. The acquisition of Rasher, a Spanish broker with Latin American subsidiaries, will provide BMS Group with a stronger foothold in reinsurance, given Rasher's expertise in the field.
  2. BMS Group's growth in the specialty insurance industry is apparent, as they continue to expand their global presence with acquisitions like Corporate and Commercial Insurance Brokers in Australia and Eisenar in Spain, along with the anticipated acquisition of Rasher.
  3. The finance sector is bound to see changes with BMS Group's strategic business moves, as their acquisitions in the insurance brokerage industry, such as the acquisitions of Corporate and Commercial Insurance Brokers, Eisenar, Rasher, and Berms Brett Masaood (now BMS Masaood), are designed to optimize their services for clients worldwide.
