Boost in Sales: Global Telesat Communications Records a 35% Year-Over-Year Increase in SPOT and Satellite IoT Devices Sales in 2024

In the realm of satellite technology and communications, Global Telesat Communications (GTC), a UK-based wireless and satellite technology reseller, has experienced a significant boost in sales of Globalstar devices.

GTC, a subsidiary of NextPlat Corp., announced that it sold over 10,800 Globalstar devices in 2024 alone, marking a substantial increase compared to previous years. This surge is attributed to the ease of use and economical price of Globalstar's SPOT devices, as noted by David Phipps, the managing director of GTC and the CEO of global operations of NextPlat Corp.

One of the most popular devices in GTC's inventory is the SmartOne C, a commercial IoT device that has seen continuous demand. In fact, SmartOne C remains a top-selling device in Globalstar's commercial IoT category.

The increase in sales is not limited to just one device or sector. The popularity of SPOT Gen4, SPOT X, SPOT Trace, and SmartOne C satellite IoT transmitters has contributed to the overall growth. These devices are reported to be "really easy to use" and have a "very economical price".

The sales growth can be attributed to several key factors. The expansion of the IoT subscriber base, strategic partnerships, infrastructure investments, and government and defense contracts have all played a significant role.

The expansion of the IoT subscriber base is due to increased activations and subscriber growth in Commercial IoT services, leading to higher revenues. The sales of Commercial IoT devices, including one-way modules, have risen significantly in 2025, increasing subscriber equipment sales by 39% year-over-year.

Strategic partnerships, such as collaborations with major players like Apple and the U.S. Army, provide access to large markets, including a $40 billion defense IoT sector and consumer messaging services. Partnerships with SpaceX for satellite launches further enhance network capacity and resilience.

Infrastructure investments, like the deployment of C-3 gateways across Japan, Canada, Spain, and the FCC-authorized HIBLEO-4 satellite constellation, allow Globalstar to deliver 5G-like latency satellite IoT services, meeting demand in industries such as agriculture and logistics.

Government and defense contracts, including satellite-enabled software-defined communications, edge computing demonstrations with the U.S. Army, and 5G research for tactical applications, contribute to revenue growth and position Globalstar in mission-critical applications.

Key industries fueling the demand for Globalstar’s satellite IoT devices and SPOT products include agriculture, logistics and supply chain, government and defense, and consumer sectors. Humanitarian aid NGOs and utilities suppliers are among the customers seeing accelerated demand for Globalstar's devices.

Mark O'Connell, the EMEA and APAC general manager of Globalstar, comments on GTC's ongoing success and expresses pride in their partnership with the company. Globalstar's Q2 2025 revenue rose 11% to $67.1 million, supported by a 53% adjusted EBITDA margin and strong IoT service growth.

In a remarkable milestone, Globalstar announced the 10,000th rescue worldwide, thanks to the reliable and ubiquitous satellite-enabled tracking and SOS capabilities in Globalstar's product portfolio. This underscores the importance of these devices in ensuring safety and security, particularly in remote and challenging environments.

With these impressive sales figures and the continuous demand for Globalstar's devices, it is clear that the future of satellite technology and communications is bright.

The surge in sales of Globalstar devices at Global Telesat Communications (GTC), a UK-based technology reseller, has been attributed to the expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) subscriber base, strategic partnerships, and infrastructure investments in data-and-cloud-computing technology. The growth is not limited to just one device or sector, as the popularity of SPOT Gen4, SPOT X, SPOT Trace, and SmartOne C satellite IoT transmitters has contributed to the overall increase.

In the financial year 2025, the sales of Commercial IoT devices at Globalstar, including one-way modules, rose significantly, increasing subscriber equipment sales by 39% year-over-year. This growth is attributed to the strategic partnerships and infrastructure investments, which have provided access to large markets and enhanced network capacity.
