BBC Nordic's advertising agreement has been expanded by Viaplay

BBC Studios has announced the expansion of its advertising partnership with Viaplay Group in Sweden, with BBC Nordic now included in Viaplay Group Sweden's linear channel portfolio. Effective immediately, BBC Nordic is widely available in Sweden and Norway through all major operators.

Bram Husken, SVP, GM Benelux & Nordics at BBC Studios, commented on the extension of the partnership, while Sara Uddståhl, VP Free-TV Sweden at Viaplay Group Sweden, expressed appreciation for the addition of BBC Nordic to their channel portfolio. According to Uddståhl, the inclusion of BBC Nordic fits perfectly within their existing portfolio, which consists of TV3, TV6, TV8, TV10, and partner channel History.

BBC Nordic's strong brand and high-quality content create a sought-after premium environment for advertising. The channel's content includes shows from David Attenborough, Louis Theroux, and Graham Norton, as well as entertainment titles such as Where the Wild Men Are with Ben Fogle, Death in Paradise, Would I Lie To You and QI. Advertising for the channel will be sold locally through Viaplay Group for both countries.

The addition of BBC Nordic to Viaplay Group Sweden's channel portfolio is not related to any space-related initiatives such as Space Race 2.0, EchoStar, AST SpaceMobile, or Starship. Nor is it connected to broadband direct-from-satellite, Pakistan halting it, or India stymying Starlink launch.

The step to expand the advertising partnership between BBC Studios and Viaplay Group in Sweden contributes to increased reach and commercial ratings for the Swedish market. BBC Nordic's ranking among international channels has improved to #3 in Norway, and its balanced audience profile ensures a wide appeal.

This extension of their existing advertising partnership in Norway marks a significant step forward for both BBC Studios and Viaplay Group, providing viewers in Sweden with access to BBC Nordic's diverse and engaging content.
