Tata Motors Introduces Adventure X Range for Harrier and Safari, Oben Rorr EZ Sigma Launched

Tata Motors has expanded its SUV lineup with the introduction of the Adventure X range for the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari. Meanwhile, Oben Motors has launched its electric vehicle, the Rorr EZ Sigma, in India.

The new Tata Harrier and Safari Adventure X variants are feature-rich SUVs powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder Fiat-sourced turbo diesel engine that delivers 167-170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual or torque converter automatic gearbox.

Key features of the Adventure X range include an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) with Adaptive Cruise Control, a segment-first at this price point. Other features include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree HD surround-view camera system, panoramic sunroof, six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), driver doze-off alert, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and all-wheel disc brakes for safety. The SUVs also come with terrain and drive modes, a Land Rover-derived Command Shifter in the automatic variant for off-road handling, ergo lux driver seat with memory and welcome function, six-way electric adjustment, and leatherette upholstery for comfort. Trail Hold and Trail Response technology aid off-road driving, while a JBL premium audio system and connected car technology are also included.

Pricing starts at ₹18.99 lakh for the Harrier Adventure X and ₹19.99 lakh for the Safari Adventure X+. Bookings for the Adventure X range are now open, and deliveries will commence by October 31, 2025.

In a separate development, Oben Motors has launched the Rorr EZ Sigma, an electric vehicle with an up to 175 km range. The vehicle is available at an introductory price of ₹1.27 lakh for the 3.4 kWh variant. Test rides for the Rorr EZ Sigma are available across Oben dealerships, and bookings can be made for ₹2,999. Deliveries are expected to begin on August 15, 2025.

Tesla has inaugurated its first Supercharger in India, located at One BKC in Mumbai. The charging station has a peak charging speed of 250 kW. No information about the cost of a full charge at the Supercharger is provided. This is the first of eight new Superchargers that Tesla plans to set up across the country.

The Toyota Innova has been a consistent presence in the multipurpose vehicle (MPV) space in India, with Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) selling the vehicle for 20 years. Over its three generations, the Innova has sold over 12 lakh units.

In the compact SUV segment, the Harrier and Safari Adventure X variants stand out with ADAS features including Adaptive Cruise Control, a 360-degree camera, and terrain response modes — features typically offered in more expensive premium SUVs. The engine output and torque figures are competitive for diesel compact SUVs, and the addition of premium comfort and safety technology positions them as strong contenders in their segment.

The Oben Rorr EZ Sigma, on the other hand, offers an electric alternative, with a more powerful 4.4 kWh variant available at ₹1.37 lakh.

The new Adventure X variants in the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari, equipped with electric-vehicles-like features such as ADAS and terrain response modes, introduce a compelling proposition in the compact SUV segment. Meanwhile, the Oben Rorr EZ Sigma electric vehicle offers an affordable entry into the world of electric vehicles, with varying battery options available. The automotive industry's rapid advancements in technology are evident, as the Tesla Supercharger in India provides a fast charging solution for electric vehicles, setting the stage for a shift towards a more sustainable lifestyle in the finance sector.
