Audit Finds Wage Theft and Irregularities at Aachen Football Stadium
The Main Customs Office Aachen recently conducted a thorough audit at the Aachen football stadium, uncovering several wage-related irregularities. A warning was issued in one instance for lack of identification documents, while 16 employees from 11 employers were found to have not had their pension insurance data updated promptly.
In a concerning development, two employers were found to have withheld and misappropriated wages, failing to pay the collectively agreed minimum wage to their employees. One such employer, identified as Grün Deli VF GmbH in Berlin, is suspected of wage theft. The case, involving an employee named Queen P., was taken to court in September 2025. Queen P. was denied wage continuation during her sick leave and later dismissed for asserting her rights. As of now, no final verdict has been reached.
The audit, which inspected 66 employees and 28 employers, also revealed various other irregularities that require further investigation. Additionally, 15 employers are currently under scrutiny to determine if they have been paying the collectively agreed minimum wage to their employees.
The findings from the Main Customs Office Aachen's audit highlight significant issues regarding wage theft and irregularities at the Aachen football stadium. Further investigations are ongoing to ensure all employees are being fairly compensated and that employers are adhering to the collectively agreed minimum wage.
