Antonio Vencesla assumes the position of Corporate Affairs & Communications Director at JTI Romania
Extra, Extra! New Corporate Communications Chief on the Block
Stepping into the limelight as of January 2025, Antonio Vencesla assumes the position of Corporate Affairs & Communications Director for JTI in Romania, Moldova, and Bulgaria.
Boasting a stellar career in the Corporate Affairs & Communications sector, Antonio starts his stint with JTI in 2012, beginning as the Corporate Affairs & Communications Manager. In 2015, he was tapped to head the Corporate Affairs team in Malawi and, returning to Geneva in 2016, took charge of the Corporate Affairs & Communications for the Global Leaf & Global Supply Chain organization. Since 2021, he has helmed the Corporate Affairs & Communications function for Global Travel Retail.
Prior to JTI, Antonio honed his skills with the Regional Government of Andalusia in Spain and later relocated to Brussels. Academically, Antonio boasts a master's degree in Natural Sciences and Agronomy from the University of Cordoba, Spain.
Sharing his thoughts on the new role, Antonio says, "I'm pumped to embark on a fresh journey in a nation where JTI has an impressive history of milestones and enormous potential to expand our renowned reputation, just as we've been doing for more than 30 years."
Replacing Gilda Lazăr, whose contract with JTI ended in December 2024, Antonio ushers in a new era of corporate affairs and communications leadership.
JTI employs approximately 1,500 individuals in Romania, with positions at their headquarters, the factory, the global technological hub based in Bucharest, and over 30 sales offices dispersed throughout the country. JTI Romania also oversees the Bulgarian and Moldovan markets. The company recently earned certification as a Top Employer in Romania for the 12th consecutive time.
