Annual Honorees Announced at Vienna Stock Exchange: CEOs and Financial Officers of the Year Recognized
In a grand ceremony, the CEO & CFO Awards were presented to the top leadership duos and individual financial experts of Austrian listed companies across various categories. The event, which recognises outstanding achievements in business leadership and financial management, was held recently.
Karl-Heinz Strauss and Klemens Eiter of Porr emerged victorious in the "Construction & Real Estate" category. Their efforts led to a market capitalization of over one billion euros and an increase in the free float, making Porr a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
Meanwhile, in the "Energy & Resource-related Industry" category, Alfred Stern and Reinhard Florey of the Borouge Group International clinched the award due to the strategic merger of Borealis and Borouge.
The "Banks & Insurance" category saw Peter Bosek and Stefan Dörfler of Erste Group being honoured for their impressive business results. Norbert Haslacher and Peter Skerlan of Frequentis took home the award in the "Technology" category due to their significant growth development and careful management.
In the "Mobility" category, Walter Oblin and Barbara Potisk-Eibensteiner of Austrian Post AG were recognised for their professional competence and strong leadership. Michael Strugl and Peter F. Kollmann of Verbund received the award in the "ESG" category for their ambitious climate strategy, biodiversity protection, and comprehensive hydrogen strategy.
One of the most significant accolades of the night went to Claudia Trampitsch, the newly appointed CFO of AMAG Austria Metall AG. Trampitsch, who joined AMAG as Group Accounting Director in 2015, was appointed as the first female board member and CFO of AMAG on January 1, 2024. Her excellent professional expertise, role model behaviour, and connecting personality have enabled AMAG to achieve solid financial results despite global challenges. Trampitsch was also awarded the CFO of the Year 2025 by AMAG Austria Metall AG.
The selection of the award winners is based on two equally weighted criteria: the jury's decision and an objective analysis of the company's stock performance. The CFO Newcomer of the Year is elected by the members of the CFO Club Austria. Gerald Siegmund of FSG Sustainable was responsible for the ESG calculations for the CFO Newcomer of the Year.
The awards serve as a testament to the exceptional leadership and financial management in Austrian businesses. The winners' achievements set high standards for their respective industries and inspire others to strive for excellence.
