2025 World Car Awards to Kickstart New York International Auto Show
The 2025 World Car Awards, a prestigious event recognising the best cars in the world, will mark the beginning of the New York International Auto Show's 125th anniversary celebrations. According to Daniele Schillaci, CEO of Brembo, these awards are a true triumph for the winners, as they are judged by 96 of the world's top automotive journalists.
The top three finalists for each category have not been officially announced for the 2025 World Car Awards, but related awards offer some insight into the competition. For instance, the Kia EV3 has already won major accolades in the UK, being declared Car of the Year and Best Mainstream Electric Car based on owner surveys.
The North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year Awards have also revealed their finalists, though the exact names are yet to be officially announced. These awards, like the World Car Awards, consider innovation, design, performance, driver satisfaction, and value when selecting their finalists.
The J.D. Power 2025 APEAL study has also produced rankings and top models in various vehicle segments, though this is a satisfaction study rather than a finalist list for the World Car Awards. Porsche Taycan and 911, Kia, BMW, Lincoln, and other models have performed well in this study.
