Altered Bus Service in Pforzheimer, effective from Monday
In the coming weeks, there will be some changes to bus routes and road access in our city due to the renovation of several bus stops. Here's a breakdown of what to expect:
Starting from early October, Mannheim Street will undergo a full closure for construction. During this period, access from Wilhelm-Becker-Straße to Mannheim Street will be rerouted via Karlsruhe Street. Business access will be announced in advance with detour signs. The work is expected to last until the end of October.
Bus traffic through Tiergartenstraße will resume on September 11, 2023. However, during the construction period, the bus stop "Wilhelm-Becker-Straße" cannot be used. The replacement bus stop for city bus lines 6 and 11 is the "Tannhoferweg" bus stop. The bus stop "Eichenweg" inbound will remain out of service in Tiergartenstraße.
Lines 6 and early morning buses that were rerouted during the construction project in Tiergartenstraße will resume their regular routes on September 11, 2023.
In addition, the bus stop "Bahnhofstraße" will undergo renovation starting on September 11, 2023. Both sides of the bus stop will be converted to curb-side bus stops with so-called Kassel special kerbstones. The northbound bus stop towards the main station will be moved 100 meters south during this period. Traffic management will be adjusted during the construction phase, including potential rerouting of access from Wilhelm-Becker-Straße.
The renovation aims to create a barrier-free bus stop at the "Schwabengarage" car dealership on Wilferdinger Height. Mannheim Street will become a dead end, and access into Wilhelm-Becker-Straße will no longer be possible during the full closure.
