Alpinah has met her demise.

BMW's acquisition of Alpina trademark rights marks the birth of an ultra-exclusive project by Bovensiepen Automobile: the Bovensiepen Zagato coupe. This automotive marvel, based on the BMW M4 cabriolet with a carbon fiber roof, showcases a unique design crafted by Italian coachbuilder Zagato.

The Bovensiepen family, led by Andreas Bovensiepen, unveiled their first independent project at the FuoriConcorso on Lake Como. The collaboration with Zagato aims to elevate the new brand, providing it with a solid boost from the prestigious name. The Bovensiepen Zagato's distinctive design is evident in its "Double Bubble" roof, a signature of Zagato, and its exclusive features such as the extensive use of carbon fiber and Lavalina leather.

While the BMW DNA remains discernible, the Bovensiepen Zagato boasts a modified 3.0-liter inline-six engine, which delivers 611 horsepower and 700 Newton meters of torque. This powerhouse enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reach speeds beyond 300 km/h. Despite its sporty nature, the Zagato's distinctive C-pillar design lends it an elegant touch.

Bovensiepen plans to continue producing bespoke, limited-run models for enthusiasts and connoisseurs. The Bovensiepen Zagato represents the family's return to building modified BMW-based cars under a new identity, focusing on exclusivity and customization while maintaining their tradition of craftsmanship and performance.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026, with the Zagato being more of a grand tourer than a hardcore track car, promises Andreas Bovensiepen. While further details about the number of units and price remain undisclosed, it's safe to assume that this affair will be significantly more exclusive and expensive than previous Alpina products.
