Robbie finds the process of launching a gin brand less challenging than navigating the unpredictable world of Hollywood. In an interview, she stated that gin is a tangible product compared to the unproven ideas in the film industry.
The global gin market is worth £12.7 billion, and Robbie is not the first A-list celebrity to venture into the industry. Other notable names include Brad Pitt, Ozzy Osbourne, Gary Barlow, Snoop Dogg, Kendall Jenner, and Cate Blanchett. Prominent individuals who have put their names on spirit brands include Dwayne Johnson, who founded the Tequila brand Teremana, and supports and leads the brand. Other notable spirit brands include Jägermeister, known for its traditional herbal liqueur, and companies like Waldemar Behn GmbH with brands such as Kleiner Feigling and Danzka.
Robbie's new venture comes after she left the Australian soap opera Neighbours in 2011 to pursue a career in Hollywood. She made a name for herself as a recurring actress and eventually rose to international fame.
Robbie's company, LuckyChap, has also made a significant impact in the film industry. LuckyChap, which Robbie co-founded, has received 25 Academy Award nominations and 18 Bafta nominations. One of their most successful films to date is Barbie, which brought in $1.4 billion.
