In the rapidly growing renewable energy sector, India's booming stock markets are becoming a popular choice for raising funds. One of the recent marquee listings in this sector is Acme Solar's $343 million initial public offering (IPO), for which Biswajit Chatterjee led the Hogan Lovells team from Singapore.

The Hogan Lovells team included associates Medhashree Verma, Rishi Nandkeolyar, Aniruddh Saraswat, Arjun Badola, Arnab Roy, Ritvik Maheshwari, and Abhinav Singh Chauhan, based in Singapore. Nancy D. O'Neil and Henry Kahn, partners based in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. respectively, were also part of the Hogan Lovells team.

The book-running lead managers for the Acme Solar IPO were Nuvama Wealth Management, ICICI Securities, JM Financial, Kotak Mahindra Capital, and Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors. Varun Jetly, Kaustubh George, Aditya Rajput, Jayant Bharadwaj, Sanjana Ravjiani, and Rosen Chen, based in Singapore, were also part of the Hogan Lovells team.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Hogan Lovells Lee & Lee acted as Indian and international counsel to the book-running lead managers on the Acme Solar deal. Prashant Gupta led the SAM team for the Acme Solar IPO, while Romit Raja Srivastava was a senior associate on the SAM team. Sayantan Dutta and Devi Prasad Patel were also part of the SAM team.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co advised Acme Solar on its IPO, while SAM, Trilegal, and Linklaters advised Premier Energies on its $336 million IPO this year. JSA, Khaitan & Co, and Hogan Lovells advised Waaree Energies on its $515 million IPO earlier this year.

JSA and Trilegal are providing legal counsel for NTPC Green Energy's upcoming $1.2 billion listing, the largest equity issuance in fiscal 2025. This highlights the active role these firms are playing in the Indian renewable energy sector.

Trilegal advised Kotak Mahindra Capital on a related REIT IPO linked with infrastructure investment, though not directly renewable energy, demonstrating their activity in related sectors. Cleary Gottlieb has advised on major climate-focused investments in Indian renewable energy projects, including wind-solar hybrid energy generation and storage.

White & Case and DLA Piper have significant presence and expertise in Indian energy and capital markets transactions, supporting investments in renewable energy and energy transition projects. These firms, though not directly named for IPO mandates, are important advisors in the broader energy and renewable finance space.

Therefore, key players for recent Indian renewable energy IPOs include JSA and Trilegal on the domestic legal advisory front and Cleary Gottlieb among international firms engaged in related climate asset investments. White & Case and DLA Piper are also important advisors in the broader energy and renewable finance space.
