Yakutia Introduces New Wastewater Regulations for 2026
The State Committee for Environmental Protection of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has recently adopted a regulation, effective from December 26, 2023, outlining the composition specifications for wastewater in Yakutsk. This regulation, along with a decree from the Yakutsk City Administration, aims to manage and control wastewater discharge effectively.
JSC 'Vodokanal' has issued a requirement for consumers to submit a wastewater declaration by November 1, 2023, for the year 2026. This declaration is mandatory for consumers discharging 30 cubic meters of wastewater per day or more. It must include actual values for all pollutants and general properties, as well as any discharges exceeding maximum permissible values and concentrations.
The declaration should characterize the wastewater composition and properties over its validity period. It is crucial to note that prohibited substances, materials, waste, and wastewater cannot be discharged into the centralized system. Consumers with control or inspection wells are also required to submit a declaration. For further information, consumers can contact 507-023.
To ensure compliance with the new regulations, consumers must attach a diagram of the intra-site sewage network, showing connected wells and control wells, with their declaration. This regulation and decree aim to maintain the quality of Yakutsk's wastewater management system, promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.
