The automotive industry is abuzz with excitement as Volkswagen unveils its latest offerings in the SUV segment. Let's take a closer look at the Volkswagen Atlas, a seven-seat large SUV, and the forthcoming ID.4 electric vehicle.

The Volkswagen Atlas, introduced in spring 2017, is a significant addition to Volkswagen's lineup. Measuring 5037mm in length, it surpasses the Range Rover in size. This spacious SUV is built on VW's MQB platform and is primarily developed as a North American strategic SUV. The Atlas is manufactured at Volkswagen's Chattanooga, Tennessee factory in the United States.

Volkswagen has opted to offer a choice of petrol engines for the Atlas, including a 2.0 litre TSI with 234bhp and a 3.6 litre VR6 with 275bhp. However, the Atlas does not plan to offer a diesel engine.

The Atlas SUV features a front end similar to the CrossBlue Concept from 2013. Inside, the interior is adorned with wood and leather, boasting a simple layout. Technology-wise, the Atlas includes features such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink, Digital Cockpit, Fender Premium Sound, Adaptive Cruise, Front Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, and LED headlights.

Volkswagen aims to attract customers with the competitive pricing of the Atlas in the family SUV segment. While the company has not released prices for the Atlas, it is expected to be priced competitively.

In addition to the Atlas, Volkswagen is also working on the ID.4, an electric SUV expected to be VW's take on the ID.3. The ID.4 is set to debut later in 2020 in Europe, the USA, and China. The ID Roomzz Concept electric SUV, revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show, offers 302bhp, providing a glimpse into the potential power of the ID.4.

Lastly, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, a seven-seat variant of the Tiguan, is expected to be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show. The Tiguan Allspace is anticipated to be available for sale in summer 2017.

Volkswagen's expanding SUV lineup is a testament to the company's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. With the Atlas, ID.4, and Tiguan Allspace, Volkswagen is poised to make a significant impact in the SUV market. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting new vehicles.
