Vingroup Launches Two Giant Projects in Hai Phong, Boosting Clean Energy and Industry
Vingroup has initiated two significant projects in Hai Phong, marking a substantial investment in the city's future. The Tan Trao Industrial Park and the Hai Phong LNG-to-power plant, both started by Vingroup, aim to create a sustainable and efficient industrial-energy ecosystem. The projects, witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, are set to transform Hai Phong into a major growth hub.
The Tan Trao Industrial Park, Phase 1, spans nearly 227 hectares with an investment of VND4 trillion ($151.46 million). It's designed to attract advanced industries like electronics and clean energy, aligning with the Prime Minister's call for selective, high-tech, and sustainable investments. The park's integrated 4,800 MW Hai Phong LNG power plant, with a total investment of over VND178 trillion ($6.74 billion), will supply about 9.6 billion kWh per year in its first phase, ramping up to 19.2 billion kWh per year in the second phase. This will serve both the industrial park and the national grid, demonstrating Vingroup's commitment to clean energy transition.
Phạm Nhật Vượng, Vingroup's founder and leader, has been instrumental in these projects, reflecting his vision for Vietnam's industrial growth. The commencement of these projects underscores Hai Phong's resolve to establish a new growth pole in the Southern Coastal Economic Zone.
Vingroup's Tan Trao Industrial Park and Hai Phong LNG power plant, with their combined investment of over VND182 trillion ($6.89 billion), are set to transform Hai Phong's industrial landscape. These projects, supported by the Prime Minister, aim to create a sustainable, high-tech industrial-energy ecosystem, attracting advanced industries and boosting Vietnam's clean energy transition.
