Vietnam's Semiconductor Industry Booms: First Fab Plant Approved, Intel's Commitment, SEMIEXPO 2025 Ahead
Vietnam is making significant strides in its semiconductor industry, with the country moving into integrated circuit design, packaging, and its first approved semiconductor fabrication plant. FPT Semiconductor, a domestic pioneer, has commercialised over 18 chip lines and plans to launch the country's first semiconductor testing facility in Da Nang this year. Meanwhile, Intel has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Vietnam's semiconductor industry.
The upcoming SEMIEXPO 2025, one of the most significant events in Vietnam's semiconductor industry, is expected to feature exhibitions, high-level policy dialogues, market updates, and talent development initiatives. Over 5,000 participants are anticipated, including senior government leaders, technology corporations, international organisations, research institutes, universities, and global experts. The event, scheduled for November 7-8 in Hà Nội, is co-organised by the National Innovation Centre (NIC) and the global semiconductor association SEMI.
Vietnam's semiconductor industry revenues are projected to expand by 11.6 per cent annually through 2027. This growth is supported by nearly 170 high-tech FDI projects currently underway, alongside new partnerships with international players. The SEMIEXPO event is expected to showcase the latest developments in the industry and provide a platform for networking and collaboration.
