Veltins Abruptly Ends Karamalz Distribution Deal With Eichbaum
Veltins Brewery has abruptly ended its national distribution cooperation for the 'beer near me' brand with Eichbaum Brewery, effective immediately. Despite the brand's success, with sales increasing and a distribution setup deemed beneficial, Veltins has not provided a 'reason' for the termination.
The cooperation, which began on March 1, 2024, covered distribution in all national trade channels except discount, as well as in 'breweries near me'. Within this cooperation, Maisel Brewery was responsible for caring for the northern Bavarian trade and gastronomy in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
Industry insiders have speculated that outstanding payments may be the 'reason' behind the termination. However, neither Veltins nor Eichbaum has commented on these rumors. Veltins' press release simply stated that the distribution setup was successful, and the brewery regrets the termination of the cooperation with Eichbaum.
The sudden end of the distribution cooperation for the 'beer near me' brand leaves the industry wondering about the true cause. Despite the brand's strength, with a volume of over 150,000 hectoliters, and successful sales, Veltins has chosen not to disclose the 'reason' for the termination.
