TWS Welcomes Mayor Dirk Bastin as New Chairman, Boosting Sustainability Efforts
Technische Werke Schussental GmbH & Co. KG (TWS) is set to welcome Dirk Bastin, the mayor of Ravensburg, as the new chairman of its supervisory board. Bastin will take over from Alexander Geiger, the mayor of Weingarten, who has been serving as deputy chairman. The change is part of a two-year rotation policy between the two municipalities, the company's main shareholders.
TWS, responsible for expanding and maintaining over 100 heat generation facilities in the region, is sharpening its ecological profile. It plans to invest in renewable energy generation facilities and innovative mobility concepts. The company's key focus remains the expansion of heat networks in Ravensburg and Weingarten.
The supervisory board, consisting of 14 representatives from the two municipalities, EnBW, and the employees' side, will see Bastin's appointment. He aims to work closely with the TWS management to advance the energy transition in the region. Following Bastin's term, Dr. Hans-Peter Metzger will serve as chairman from January 1, 2025, to the end of 2026.
Dirk Bastin's appointment signals a continued commitment to sustainable energy practices in the region. His leadership, along with the board's collective efforts, will drive TWS's mission to expand and maintain efficient, eco-friendly heat networks in Ravensburg and Weingarten.
