Subaru marks its 17th consecutive year of charitable giving

The Subaru Share the Love Event is set to return for its 17th year, with Subaru of America, Inc. and participating retailers aiming to donate nearly $320 million to local hometown charities and national partners from November 21, 2024, to January 2, 2025 [1].

During this philanthropic campaign, customers can choose from a selection of national charities, with Subaru pledging to donate $250,000 each to the four national charities: The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America, and the National Park Foundation [2].

The event also provides an opportunity for participating Subaru retailers to support local charities. For example, Hassett Subaru has donated over $100,000 to the Family and Children’s Association, a nonprofit helping vulnerable populations on Long Island, NY [3].

The Subaru Share the Love Event fosters a dual-layered impact, supporting large national nonprofits while enabling regional Subaru partners to direct funds and attention to their communities' immediate needs [4].

Subaru's partnership with Meals on Wheels America during the event has resulted in over 4.6 million meals and friendly visits to America's seniors [5]. Similarly, through its partnership with Make-A-Wish, Subaru and its retailers have helped grant the life-changing wishes of over 3,600 kids with critical illnesses [6].

In addition, the partnership with the ASPCA has significantly impacted the rescue, transport, well-being, and adoption of over 134,000 animals across the country [7]. Through its partnership with the National Park Foundation, Subaru is providing critical funding to programs and projects that help protect America's more than 400 national parks [8].

Customers can participate by designating their preferred charity when purchasing or leasing a new Subaru vehicle. However, they must make their charity designations by January 10, 2025 [9]. It's important to note that Subaru is the largest automotive donor to Meals on Wheels America, the ASPCA, and the National Park Foundation [5][7][8].

Over the last 16 years, Subaru and its retailers have donated over $288 million to various causes around the country and supported nearly 2,300 hometown charities [10]. The Subaru Share the Love Event underscores Subaru's commitment to "Respecting All People" through its Subaru Love Promise vision [4].
