Street Access Obstructed at Spenglerstrasse
In an unprecedented move, the City of Peine has announced that Spenglerstraße will be permanently closed to the public from Monday, July 28, 2025. This closure will impact all modes of transportation, including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorised vehicles.
The decision to decommission Spenglerstraße was made following a resolution by the City of Peine Council, with Rausch Holding Peine GmbH & Co. KG acquiring the street areas to optimise operational processes and facilitate the site's development. The company aims to sustain the development of the site and improve the adjacent business premises.
The decommissioning procedure was carried out to optimise the operational processes and functions of the adjacent business premises. Construction of barrier devices on Spenglerstraße will begin on the aforementioned date, marking the end of public access to the street.
The area of Spenglerstraße has been expanded as part of the sale, and further information about the acquisition and decommissioning can be found in document 426/2021 within the council's information system. It is important to note that this closure is a future event, and the public is advised to plan alternative routes accordingly.
Despite initial searches, the name of the company that bought Spenglerstraße prior to Rausch Holding Peine GmbH & Co. KG remains unknown. However, it is clear that the closure of Spenglerstraße is a significant step towards the development of the area and the improvement of the adjacent business premises.
