Saxony-Anhalt's Vehicle Market Sees Diverse Trends in 2022
Saxony-Anhalt's vehicle market saw varied trends in 2022. The independent city of Halle (Saale) had the lowest recreational vehicle growth rate, while the Mansfeld-Südharz district and Salzlandkreis led in growth. Meanwhile, the county of Harz had the most cars, and the independent city of Dessau-Roßlau had the fewest.
Looking at recreational vehicle growth, Halle (Saale) lagged with a 14.2% year-over-year increase. In contrast, Mansfeld-Südharz and Salzlandkreis saw significant jumps of 25.1% and 21.3% respectively. All-wheel-drive vehicles were prevalent in Mansfeld-Südharz (12.7%) and Harz (12.0%), but data on the region with the highest share in Saxony-Anhalt was unavailable.
In cars, Harz had the most registrations (124,090), and Dessau-Roßlau the fewest (41,994). Altmarkkreis Salzwedel had the lowest open car share (1.5%), while Jerichower Land led with 2.2%, followed by Magdeburg and Dessau-Roßlau (2.1% each). Halle (Saale) had the lowest car density (403 per 1,000 inhabitants), with Saalekreis and Börde topping the list (629 and 627 respectively). Overall, Saxony-Anhalt had 1,222,087 registered cars as of January 1, 2022.
