**InstaVolt's EV Charging Network Expands Rapidly Across the UK**

The UK's electric vehicle (EV) charging landscape is experiencing a significant shift, with InstaVolt leading the charge. As of mid-2025, InstaVolt has installed 2,133 chargers nationwide, with over 3,000 more either leased or under construction[1]. This rapid expansion is set to continue, with plans to reach 11,000 chargers across the UK and Republic of Ireland by 2030.

A key strategy for InstaVolt is the development of large-scale ultra-rapid charging hubs, designed to reduce wait times and provide a seamless charging experience. The Winchester Superhub, for example, is the UK’s largest ultra-rapid-only charging site operated by a single provider, boasting 44 ultra-rapid 160kW charging bays. Opened in March 2025, Winchester offers extensive amenities, all powered completely by renewable energy generated on-site via solar panels and wind turbines[2][3].

InstaVolt's commitment to renewable energy is evident, with all hubs powered by 100% green power. This includes solar and wind energy, as well as advanced battery storage to stabilise costs and reduce grid reliance.

The government's support for EV infrastructure is evident, with a recent £63 million investment package to boost the network[4]. With InstaVolt's focus on ultra-rapid chargers, which now outnumber rapid chargers in the UK, the company is well-positioned to continue its momentum in expanding and enhancing its network.

Meanwhile, the electricity market has seen a surge in prices. The maximum day-ahead price in the first week of March peaked at £683/MWh, more than three times the previous six years' high[5]. Despite this, the price for capacity market auctions remains in line with previous T-4 auctions, despite the uncertainty caused by the number of nuclear power plants expected to close in the coming years[6].

InstaVolt's partnerships with fast food chains such as KFC and McDonalds are also contributing to the growth of the UK's EV infrastructure. The agreement with McDonalds provides for the installation of 125kW chargers at existing and recently opened UK sites[7]. InstaVolt currently operates 570 rapid chargers in the UK, and plans to open an additional seven rapid chargers on the opposite carriageway of the M6 by the end of March[8].

In summary, InstaVolt is at the forefront of the UK’s EV charging growth, aiming to offer fast, accessible, and sustainable charging solutions for an increasing number of electric vehicles. With the government's backing and a commitment to cutting-edge technology and driver convenience, InstaVolt is set to continue its expansion and enhance its network in the coming years.

The expansion of InstaVolt's EV charging network is not limited to the finance and energy sectors, but also extends to the industry sector, with partnerships formed with fast food chains like KFC and McDonald's. As InstaVolt continues to install renewable energy sources, such as solar panels and wind turbines, at their charging hubs, they are contributing to the UK's goal of a more sustainable finance and energy landscape.
