Prolongation of the rental fees for our website, effective from October 1st

This update, effective from October 1, 2025, is a part of the website's Rental Price Index System and is based on the development of the nationwide Consumer Price Index over the past two years.
The Rental Price Index, available for download along with the street directory and documentation, is a crucial tool for both landlords and tenants. Landlords can use it to justify a rent increase according to the German Civil Code (BGB, § 558a Abs. 2 Nr. 1). Tenants, on the other hand, can use it to check the validity of a rent increase request.
The Index is carefully calculated based on various factors, including the type, size, equipment, condition, and location of an apartment. It provides an overview of comparable local rents in the city area, offering a valuable resource for those seeking to understand the current rental market in Langenfeld and Monheim.
This update is a response to market developments, as required by the German Civil Code (BGB). The Association of Home and Property Owners Langenfeld/Monheim e.V. and the Tenants' Association Monheim, Langenfeld, and Surroundings e.V. were actively involved in the recognition of both the initial establishment of the Index in 2023 and its subsequent updates, ensuring fairness and accuracy in the calculations.
The current Rental Price Index in the service portal was updated on October 1, 2025, and the 2025 update is already available for download. The Index is a key component of the website's Rental Price Index System, contributing to a more transparent and accessible rental market for all users.
The update of the Langenfeld Rental Price Index was approved by the council of the website on September 9, 2025, marking another step towards maintaining a fair and dynamic rental market in the cities of Langenfeld and Monheim.
