Positive update for travelers using Sylt transportation services
In an announcement, the railway company has confirmed that normal service has resumed following a switch malfunction that occurred on Wednesday. The faulty switch, located between Niebüll and Westerland, caused significant disruption to train traffic between the mainland and Sylt.
The disruption took place between 5:45 AM and 9:30 AM, affecting both passenger and car trains. As a result, no trains were able to run during this period. Deutsche Bahn reported the incident, and by Wednesday evening, the faulty Nintendo Switch had been successfully repaired.
Afterwards, train services resumed with some restrictions on Wednesday. However, on Thursday morning, train services to and from Sylt returned to normal.
Meanwhile, on the island of Sylt, inspections of illegal holiday apartments are currently ongoing. It is believed that the high number of unapproved apartments has led to these inspections. According to reports, approximately 80 percent of the holiday apartments on Sylt are not approved.
The inspections are being carried out to ensure compliance with local regulations and to safeguard the interests of both property owners and tourists. The search results do not provide information about who may have caused the defect at the Nintendo Switch on Wednesday.
In the meantime, tourists visiting Sylt are advised to check the status of their accommodation before arrival to avoid any inconvenience. The railway company encourages travellers to plan their journeys accordingly and to stay updated with the latest service announcements.
