Police Crackdown: Overloaded Trucks & Dangerous Trailers Seized on A7
In a recent crackdown on road safety, the Police Directorate Neumünster's 'Trucks&Bus' action on 20.02.2024 uncovered several violations, including overloading and dangerous trailer setups. The operation targeted heavy goods vehicles and buses, focusing on driving and rest period regulations.
The action, conducted by specialist services for hazardous goods, fleet management, and technology, took place on the A7 near Neumünster on 20.02.2025. A Romanian car transporter, a Ford Mach E, was found to be overloaded by 50% beyond its permissible total weight. Additionally, a gardener and landscaper's Mercedes Vito was discovered to be overloaded by more than 70%, posing a significant risk to both the driver and other road users. Both vehicles were prohibited from continuing their journeys.
In a separate incident, a truck and trailer combination was found to be too high, and a passenger car with a trailer was missing its crucial breakaway cable. These issues also resulted in prohibitions to continue driving, ensuring road safety was maintained.
