Pinnacle Power & DIF Capital Partners Team Up for UK Heat Network Expansion
A new partnership between Pinnacle Power and DIF Capital Partners aims to deploy town-and-city scale heat networks in the UK. This move aligns with the UK's goal to decarbonise its heat sector, which accounts for 37% of total greenhouse gas emissions. Heat networks, common in Northern Europe, take waste heat from local industrial and commercial buildings and distribute it as usable, cleaner heat. Pinnacle Power, one of the leading heat network providers in the UK, is the ideal partner for this project. The partnership aims to decarbonise tens of thousands of homes and buildings in England, saving up to 200,000 tonnes of CO2 a year by eliminating the need for individual gas boilers. The investment is expected to reach at least £60-80bn. In the right location, heat networks have the cheapest lifetime cost of all available energy options to decarbonise heat. The partnership between Pinnacle Power and DIF Capital Partners is a significant step towards the UK's goal of reducing its heat-related emissions. By investing in heat networks, they aim to provide cleaner, cheaper heat to homes and businesses across England.
