Passenger service commences on DART's Silver Line starting October 25th.
The much-anticipated DART Silver Line, a new train line in the Dallas, Texas area, is set to begin passenger service on October 25. This significant investment in public transportation is expected to improve connections, create new access to jobs, and contribute to a stronger region.
Linking Richardson, Dallas, Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, and Grapevine, Texas, with DFW International Airport, the Silver Line will provide a convenient and efficient mode of travel for many commuters. The line, which has been welcomed by the community, will also offer a free ride from October 25 through November 8.
The Silver Line, a focus of community pride, is a state-of-the-art train that is anticipated to drive economic growth across North Texas. DART President and CEO Nadine Lee, who was appointed in December 2022, has stated that the Silver Line is a promise kept to riders and the region.
"The Silver Line shows DART riders that their concerns were heard and addressed," said Lee. "It is an investment in both today's riders and future generations."
The Silver Line's theme of "Discover New Horizons" reflects its potential to open up new opportunities for those living in the Dallas area. The line is seen as an investment not only in the present but also in the future, with its benefits expected to be felt by generations to come.
DART Board of Directors Chair Gary Slagel is proud to open the doors of the Silver Line. "The Silver Line is a major step forward in building a stronger, more connected region," he said. "It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in its creation."
With the Silver Line now operational, DART riders can look forward to a more efficient and convenient way to travel, while the Dallas area as a whole can anticipate the economic and social benefits that this new train line is expected to bring.
