Minors in Altai Krai Accumulate Hefty Tax Debts

Approximately 66,300 minors residing in Altai Krai, a region in southern Siberia, hold tax debts and penalties totaling nearly 73 million rubles, according to the financial publication "Bankfax" citing data from the Federal Tax Service of Russia for Altai Krai.

The accumulated debt consists of 51.5 million rubles in tax debt and 21.2 million rubles in penalties, with the majority attributed to property taxes. Specifically, portions of this debt come from vehicle tax (22 million rubles), land tax (19 million rubles), property tax (10 million rubles), and income tax (10 million rubles).

Legally-appointed representatives of minors, such as parents, guardians, or custodians, are responsible for settling these financial obligations.

The Federal Tax Service revealed that most debts owed by minors amount to less than 3,000 rubles, but some cases have escalated to significant amounts. To determine whether a child has an outstanding debt and to pay it off, individuals can use the "Personal Account of the Taxpayer" section on the FNS Russia website, accessible through the "Family Access" tab.
