Opel Debuts Corsa GSE Research at IAA Munich Auto Show
The Opel Corsa GSE, a Grand Sport Electric (GSE) concept hot hatch, is making its way to a wider audience as it joins the fleet of vehicles in the popular Gran Turismo racing simulation game.
Developed as a performance showcase by Opel, the Corsa GSE Vision GT is an 800 hp fully electric vehicle that boasts exceptional performance. With dual electric motors powering all-wheel drive, it produces an impressive 800 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h). Its lightweight design (1,170 kg) and an 82 kWh battery make this performance possible.
Aerodynamically, the Corsa GSE Vision GT includes an active rear wing, diffuser, aero bonnet, and side skirts. The interior features futuristic elements such as a Head-Up Display (HUD), glowing fabrics, a floating seat, and a yoke steering wheel.
The Corsa GSE Vision GT made its debut at IAA Mobility 2025 and is now available as a dream car in the Gran Turismo 7 racing simulation game, giving gamers the opportunity to experience this high-performance electric vehicle in virtual racing.
While the Corsa GSE Vision combines precision aerodynamics with cutting-edge electric powertrain technology, pushing the boundaries of what is expected from small electric hatchbacks, its status as a concept car poses challenges for mass production. Extreme performance specifications may lead to issues related to cost, battery efficiency, and cooling. Furthermore, as a concept primarily designed for showcasing and gaming, there is no current official plan for production or street-legal commercialization.
In Gran Turismo 7, the Corsa GSE Vision GT is available as a Gran Turismo Vision car, serving as a futuristic benchmark within the virtual racing community and promoting Opel's vision of high-performance EVs. However, its inclusion in the game does not indicate a direct roadmap to real-world production versions available for customers.
In summary, the Opel Corsa GSE Vision GT is an electric hot hatch concept that showcases performance and design innovation. Its virtual availability in the Gran Turismo racing simulation game provides an opportunity for a wider audience to experience its performance, offering a unique opportunity for the public to engage with this high-performance vehicle.
