Minsk trams to adopt new routes of travel

Minsk city residents and visitors are advised of temporary changes to some tram routes due to ongoing modernization work on the overpass from Moscow Street to Independence Square.

The repair work, scheduled for the remaining weekend of September 2025 (20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th), will affect Tram No. 1 and Tram No. 4. Specifically, Tram No. 1 will not reach its final stop between "Zeleny Lug" metro station and "Zmitrok Bieduli" bus stop, while Tram No. 4 will not reach its final stop between "Ozero" metro station and "Zmitrok Bieduli" bus stop.

In light of these changes, a temporary compensatory bus route No. 901 "Vokzal - Zmitrok Bieduli" will be organized. Passengers who have already paid for a tram ticket can use bus No. 901 for free and vice versa, making for a seamless transition between the two modes of public transport.

Payment for public transport is mandatory, and entering through the first door to buy a ticket is a legal requirement. However, if entering through the first door isn't possible, approaching the driver to buy a ticket is an option. If 'Pay.Transport' cannot be used, passengers must pay for their journey using another method.

The authority responsible for setting penalties for fare evasion in public transportation in Minsk is typically the local municipal government or the relevant city transport administration, which establishes rules and fines according to city regulations. However, specific information about the exact responsible body in Minsk is not provided in the search results.

It's important to note that leaving the vehicle if unable to pay is recommended to avoid a fare evasion fine. The fine for fare evasion is Br21-42 (0.5 to 1 base unit).

The press service of "Minsk City Transport and Communications" reported about some trams not reaching their final stops due to the repair work. Inconveniences will be experienced on the mentioned dates, and passengers are advised to check their internet connection, electronic wallet balance, cash, or a valid travel card before boarding public transport.

The modernization of the overpass from Moscow Street to Independence Square is being carried out to improve the city's infrastructure and public transport system. Passengers are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and to check the latest updates from the "Minsk City Transport and Communications" for any further information.
